Brooke Benson.

Brooke Benson is a little known Australian designer whose Spring/Summer collection, 'Martini Carousel', I stumbled upon recently. The name intrigued me, but I must say I was initially quite disappointed for the most part. The line is nothing special or inspiring, and some of the fabrics are simply dull. However, I was impressed by the clashing of patterns in some of the shots, such as this:

The jacket is to die for, and I quite like the shape of the dress - but the pattern is reminiscent of my mother's early nineties maternity clothing. No thanks! If it wasn't for my kind heart allowing me to completely disregard the poor composition of the shots and the revolting-ness of the dresses themselves, I wouldn't be able to focus on details that cause my heart to yearn - the accessories! There are gloves and hats galore, inspired by the era of my dreams - the roaring Twenties.

Now, putting aside my general disliking of hair and makeup which detracts from the clothing, I am truly impressed by the attention to eye detail in this shoot. I know that fashion should be about the whole package, but I find that it rarely is. But what better accessory is there than beautiful eyes and jewel-encrusted, crown shaped eyebrows?!
