lazin' on a sunny afternoon...

I had the most incredible weekend - filled with travels and adventures, love and kisses, sunshine and rain.

I took Friday off of work, and my darling and I spent the day together, just chilling and watching The L Word, after doing some shopping (we bought the most amazing warm quilt in the world!). On Friday night we had plans to meet up with some friends for dinner and drinks, and had an amazing Thai meal followed by a few glasses of wine for everyone else, and 7 tequila shots for me! This is what I wore (excuse the dodgy photo in our local British pub:

Outfit
:
Men's sweater - Kmart (new! $15)
Black jeans - Riders by Lee
Bag - Jag
Grey socks - Sportsgirl
Gladiator heels - urbanoriginals.com
Watch - DKNY

We had planned to go camping over the weekend with some people from Alex's work (she works in an outdoor store and they all love doing that kind of thing) but due to predicted weather and some things coming up for them, it was cancelled two days beforehand. When Alex told me she was a little upset, so I decided to book a unit for us for Saturday night down along the coast. We drove down just after midday on Saturday - I absolutely adore long drives through the hills, singing along to silly tunes and laughing. After dumping our stuff in the unit, we went for a walk around the main island. It's such a childhood memory; it's hard to explain, but there are four close towns along the coast (about 1.5 hours outside of Adelaide) where EVERYONE has visited at some point in time - most people numerous times a year. It's an escape which is perfect whether in Summer or Winter, and there's an island built entirely of granite which inhabits about a million penguins and can be walked around in about half an hour or less.

We made burritos for dinner and they were delicious.

After yummy burritos we drank a bottle of champagne and had a lovely night full of snuggles and enjoying a queen-sized bed for once!

On Sunday we woke up to an unexpectedly happy sun, and after struggling to get up went for a wander through one of the towns and the Sunday markets. In the afternoon we drove a little bit further to some gorgeous beaches across the coast, and I took some more photos...
This is where we ate lunch, at a town called Normanville.

Photos while driving...

And at the beautiful Rapid Bay...

On Sunday night after getting home, we went with Alex's cousins to see The Panics w/ Little Red. It was incredible! I was so tired, but they did an amazing set. It was so impressive, and at my favourite venue. Perfect end to a perfect weekend!
Peace out x

Let me tell you something.
I envy you.

I long for the days when I could drive through the hills and woods,
and make my way to parks - and the ocean. And the beauty of it all was, I was alone. (Well, alone, with Justin). But I miss that. Probably a lot more than anyone will ever know.

I have to go to Australia.
I think about it now, more often then I did a few months ago.

I guess I'm just a country girl at heart.
A country girl in the city (.. sighs ..)

Love you xo.

p.s.
Despite my obvious jealousy, I am so happy you had a wonderful weekend. It looks SO romantic - oh, and the penguins! You know how I feel about penguins ..

I love your heels!! And I wish I got to have those kind of weekends! Colour me jealous :) Thanks for the HUGE compliment on my blog! The dress was off trademe (the NZ version of ebay) so you probably have the same one. I struggled to style it as well... Not sure how else I'd wear it! Would love to see what you do with yours!
